 There are certain waste types that cannot be placed in a mixed waste skip, and certain wastes types if placed in a mixed skip will attract an additional charge due to the high cost of recycling/disposal. Here you will find a list of the unacceptable wastes. If you have a large volume of these waste types a separate service can be provided for their disposal - call our skip hire helpdesk on 01664 822797 for further advice.WASTES WE CANNOT ACCEPT IN A MIXED SKIP 1. Materials containing ASBESTOS 2. Clinical wastes or animal carcasses 3. Excrement 4. Toxic or corrosive wastes 5. Fluorescent light tubes or bulbs 6. Any liquids, including oils and paints (even in containers) 7. Food wastes WASTES WE CAN ACCEPT IN A MIXED SKIP AT AN ADDITIONAL CHARGE 1. Fridges / Freezers 2. Vehicle tyres 3. Gas canisters 4. Televisions and Computer Monitors 5. Electric Lawnmowers 6. Plasterboard (exceeding 40% by volume) Please note, you will be charged extra for all non-conforming wastes deposited in the skip as they have to go through expensive specialist recycling / disposal processes. |
